The DIS-2/M Module Rack is a 3 HU slide-in housing for mounting in 19" standard racks. It is offered in 2 different lengths and can be loaded with up to 10 identically constructed DIS-2/M modules (0 / 1× HDD or 2× HDD).

Voltage for the integrated controller and DIS-2/M modules is supplied by two incorporated power supply units, each equipped with a fan. The power supply units are redundant and capable of being hot plugged which provides for the replacement of a power supply unit while the system remains in operation. The integrated LED indicates the power supply status and thereby ensures easy and safe maintenance of the module rack.

In cases of power supply unit failures or defects (e. g. fan) an according message is transferred to all included DIS-2/M modules. The message is entered into the event log of the modules and the error LED lights up until the problem is resolved.
