“Of course, ’virtualisation’ plays an important role in many respects“. Dieter Dallmeier on the effects of the Corona pandemic on the video industry

Similar to the economy as a whole, the situation for Dallmeier is also differentiated. In airports, casinos and in the stadium sector, we naturally see a significant decline in activities. In the commercial/industrial, safe city and logistics sectors, on the other hand, we are experiencing partly unchanged demand. The same is true for the project business of the majority of the installers working with us. Once again, our strategy of having the entire value chain in Germany is proving successful. We were neither affected by interrupted supply chains nor by problems in coordinating projects. In response to the pandemic, the “virtualisation“ plays an important role in many respects. This goes from virtual customer events and online consultation meetings to support and entire project acceptances via completely virtual factory acceptance tests. The year 2020 was also almost a record year for us in terms of product launches – with the new Picoline and Panomera® S camera series as well as new software modules such as the SeMSy® Compact VMS – all “Made in Germany“ – we are well positioned to take off again after the pandemic.
