Security along a key European transport corridor
There is still a shortage of secure truck parking facilities along major transport corridors in Europe. For drivers, this often results in unsafe rest periods, while logistics companies face an increased risk of cargo theft and tampering with trailers.

Recharge City was developed to address precisely these challenges: a secure and efficiently operated truck parking facility that meets both the requirements of international logistics companies and high European security standards. As a result, the site is among the largest and most advanced secure truck parking areas in Europe and complies with the highest EU security level (SSTPA Platinum). The project combines security infrastructure with driver services, creating an environment that balances operational logistics requirements with quality of stay.

Reliable and traceable monitoring of large areas
A truck parking facility of this scale requires continuous monitoring of all security-relevant areas. Operators must keep track of entry and exit points, parking spaces, and the entire perimeter, while also ensuring that incidents can be clearly reconstructed. Particularly in cases involving access to trailers, mere detection is not sufficient. What matters is the ability to analyze events afterward and document them in a reliable manner.

Video surveillance as a central security component
From the outset, Recharge City relied on a security solution in which video surveillance plays a central role. The key requirement was a solution capable of efficiently covering large areas while providing sufficient detail to clearly identify individuals, vehicles, and license plates.
In addition, video technology, access control, and automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) had to integrate seamlessly to ensure consistent tracking and clear assignment of movements.

“It was important for us to develop a concept and a solution that could be adapted to a new location as well as to the local requirements and expectations for a safe rest and parking area,” explains Charlotte Ørnsvig, Project Manager at Recharge City.

Panomera® combines overview and detail in one system
The implementation was carried out by Danish system integrator Scanview, which designed the security solution and integrated the various components into a cohesive system.

“From the very beginning, Scanview was just as ambitious about the project as we were. They were always committed to developing the perfect system for us – with a strong focus on functionality and operational reliability,” says Charlotte Ørnsvig.

Recharge City relies on Dallmeier Panomera® multifocal sensor systems for surveillance. The technology combines overall situational awareness with high detail resolution within a single system, making it particularly suitable for large-scale areas. Image quality remains high even in distant zones, enabling operators not only to detect incidents but also to analyze them in detail afterward.

Multiple Panomera® systems cover the parking spaces around the clock. At the same time, the solution reduces the number of required camera locations and simplifies the infrastructure. 
A thermal perimeter protection system complements the video solution and detects unauthorized access attempts along the fence at an early stage.

Certified security: SSTPA as a benchmark
With its security solution, Recharge City meets the requirements of the European “Safe and Secure Truck Parking Areas” (SSTPA) program. The EU Platinum level represents the highest security and service standard for truck parking spaces in Europe. Video surveillance ensures that incidents are not only detected but can also be clearly documented and analyzed.

High efficiency and clear evidence
Panomera® technology enables large areas to be covered with comparatively few cameras. This reduces installation and maintenance efforts while maintaining full visibility of the site. The high level of detail ensures that security-relevant incidents are clearly documented. Operators and logistics companies can quickly analyze events and take targeted action. “For us, an integrated system that combines access control, video surveillance and a booking system is essential, while also supporting our control center with its day-to-day operations,” says Charlotte Ørnsvig.
